Search engine question

Hello all,
I'm finding using Google is not as efficient as it once was.  Linking to 
pages such as "Jump" just provides more lists of topics unrelated to my search.

I've also tried www.dogpile.com, but fouind most of the entries are from 
Google.

Does anyone use a general topic search engine you really like and provides 
good leads to specific search terms?
