Adobe Reader and Ebook

A couple of years ago I downloaded and was able to read an Ebook in 
.pdf format. Recently my hard drive crashed, and while I saved my 
files, I had to reinstall all my programs.

Subsequently I can no longer read my Ebook. Any suggestions as to 
what I might do are much apreciated.
