Kambiz, the official interface for generating translations and compiling/loading system is `make-system'. For example, to retranslate some changed files in the STELLA system you'd simply call: (make-system "stella") This will retranslate any files that changed and - in Lisp only - also recompile and reload them. To force translation of all files, you'd say: (make-system "stella" :force-translation? TRUE) You can also explicitly specify the output language you want to use, for example, (make-system "stella" :java :force-translation? TRUE) (by default, the native language of your current STELLA program is used). Be very careful when you translate changes to STELLA, you are modifying the compiler and can break it which will then prevent you to do any further translations with it (which means you'd have to revert to a functioning version first). Translation of PowerLoom files is similar, for example (in Lisp): (make-system "logic" force-translation? TRUE) Hope that helps, Hans >>>>> darabi <[email protected]> writes: > Hi, I sent the below message using the wrong mail address. > I hope, it doesn't show up twice in the list.: > ---- > Hello, > while experimenting with the code, I use > powerloom/sources/stella/cl-lib/make-stella.lisp > to re-create the lisp files in > powerloom/native/lisp/... > Is this correct or is there a better way to create the lisp version? > Many thanks > Kambiz > _______________________________________________ > powerloom-forum mailing list > [email protected] > http://mailman.isi.edu/mailman/listinfo/powerloom-forum
