I know.  Thanks external contributions, such as the various tutorials and
SWI-Prolog-Editor by Gerhard Röhner.  Development has always been targeted
at developing applications, originally mostly for research and more and more
for commercial use.  I think that will remain the prime target.  At the
moment,
an important aim is to make the environment easier to understand and
thus more
usable.   I just see too many people using it in the same way as it was used
in the 80s, while there is so much more possible in the current system.
