Can I inform the editor of operator definitions?

A lot of my files are failing to be parsed by the editor simply because it is unaware of the preprocessing that introduces additional operator definitions before the file is loaded. Is there a way to fix this, like how the system can recognize Prolog files by a first line comment? Adding directives to the code is not a good answer for me.
