That version was created using MacPorts on MacOS X 10.6. If memory serves, at that time and version, Apple was still using gcc 4.2. Not anymore. My suggestion is for you to either use a more recent (development) version (there's a .app available and you can also use MacPorts to install the command-line version of it). That should fix the issue you're observing with swipl-ld.
