EnC: Edit and Continue

Dear all

I wonder if EnC, this developer tool - namely, change to *some extent* the
code and *creep* into patched code, preserving stacks and globals, is
available, in some form.

I'm also interested in knowing someone else option about its
desiderability.I asked about GDB (and C++, where I really miss it) on
stackoverflow, but I got my question 'put on hold' in about 20 secs... I
hope this will be my personal negative record for a while...

I remember (more or less 25 years ago) I was impressed when a colleague
showed me Visual Basic doing that.

Btw I did take a short look at bytecode, while trying to use debugging
support from library. But I have no clue about the EnC topic.
