This is annoying. Yes, one of the main reasons to switch to a version of Java greater than 8 was to fix this problem on Windows, and this did indeed provide a fix on the 4K and 5K displays I have tried. However, I have not tried a high-resolution projector. Do you know the resolution of the projector by any chance? Perhaps I could try to replicate the problem if we have one here.
