--- Comment #6 from Philippe Cloutier <[email protected]> ---
(In reply to Rich Bowen from comment #5)

I may misguess what you struggled to understand, but I think the first thing I
should make clear is that comment #4 is nothing but a concatenation of 2
replies: a reply to your comment #1, followed by a reply to your comment #3. I
put these 2 replies in a single comment for digital sobriety, but my reply to
comment #3 is entirely independent from the documents my reply to comment #1
mentions.
The only incoherences I see are between the “Does not start with /” bullets and
the URL-path definition.

Indeed

I was reporting a problem, not requesting specific changes. Although you chose
a solution different from the one I suggested, your approach is also valid.
My last comment highlighted an incoherence, but I unfortunately do not know
mod_rewrite well enough to tell if this is because the text you introduced is
wrong or because the existing documentation was wrong.
> I feel like "on disk" is universally understood by the audience, isn't it?
I am guessing the kind of people likely to read httpd documentation have all
heard of HDDs, yes. Going forward though, this will sound more and more
outdated, which is why I recommend against introducing new occurrences.

Yes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_data_storage#Primary
A better-known term could be "on a mass storage device".
> I continue to appreciate your participation in improving the docs, but I am

You completely understood the problem, and technically solved it. I am just
unsure if the solution is correct.
