I apologize once more, Rich just made me realize in ticket #70042 that I was
confusing 2 PATH_INFO variables. I retract the patch I attached, as well as
part of comments 4 and 8.

I agree with that. I just didn't understand why you wrote it, but now that I
realize my confusion, I understand my proposal must have been misinterpreted.

With all the confusion in this ticket, I filed #70044 to track the remaining
regression and am gladly putting this ticket to rest for good.
