Bug ID: 70060
Summary: CGIVar Directive: Claims REQUEST_URI contains full URI
Product: Apache httpd-2
Version: 2.5-HEAD
Hardware: All
URL: https://httpd.apache.org/docs/current/en/mod/core.html
#cgivar
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P4
Component: Documentation
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
The CGIVar Directive section has a note which starts with:
> The CGI environment variable REQUEST_URI contains the full original URI from the request line, including the query string.
This is quite misleading, as:
1. The Request line (the request target) does not necessarily contain a URI (as
reported in ticket #70035).
2. REQUEST_URI is not a CGI environment variable.
3. REQUEST_URI apparently does not necessarily contain the *original* request
target (when set to "current-uri").
By the way, an example would greatly clarify.
