"Third-party" is not superfluous. For Windows packages we do indeed point to
third-party distributions, rather than providing our own, and it is important
that users be informed of that fact.

The install page was largely rewritten a day or so ago, and doesn't contain the
text you reference here regarding Mac OS X or Solaris.

The wiki is provided as a convenience, and was never intended to be
comprehensive, nor guaranteed to be kept current. I've never been a fan of the
wiki, and I don't believe we have any documentation community members who tend
to that content. You are welcome to request an account if you wish to update
that content.

I don't believe there's any action that remains to be taken here.
