These lists do not simply reject non-subscriber emails. They go into
moderation. The list that you received rejections from was misconfigured, a=
nd
that has been addressed. The statement added to the page:

If you are not subscribed to one of these lists, your messages will go into
moderation before being approved for the list. This is a spam prevention
measure.

is an accurate representation of how things work. This issue has been
addressed.
