only half working

OK, I did more reading to confirm what I thought was going on.  I put 
the new code at http://www.nechtandesign.com/PicaGalley.zip

It still isn't running correctly.  It just appears that the method 
marked with @Init is never getting called but that just doesn't make 
sense.  Is this something that needs addressed in the composite file?
