siege failing and so on

Ok, experienced the same thing as Dmitry, but I did do one more thing. I set 
the max-file to a really high one (~100000) and tried again, this time siege 
doesn't take the server (if you can call my desktop computer that). Of course 
my machine isn't that fast so it lagged now and then and complained about 
missing resources, but more interestingly, sometimes a couple of processes 
segmentation faulted.

16 requests out of ~45000 in 5 minutes failed, running on ~250 hosts on a 
computer with ~750 of ram over a 100mbps network (750 mhz duron processor, 
ide drive, static content).

So, Dmitry, could you try to run it again with a higher file-max? (echo 
1000000 > /proc/sys/fs/file-max or something like that) and see if it 
resolves anything.
