Characters in output

Hi...

I'm trying to use mod_layout in my intranet....
i was using in redhat ES and was working very good...

but now, i migrate to debian and reinstalled all again.....but my pages 
are wrong, there some (variable) characters in the end of page...

what's wrong?

sometimes the content are duplicated, after footer....

ps: pages are in php

my configuration:
    AddOutputFilter LAYOUT html
    AddOutputFilter LAYOUT htm
    AddOutputFilter LAYOUT php4

    LayoutHeader 
/var/www/virtual/intranet.ribeiraopreto.sp.gov.br/htdocs/config/header.htm

the file is index.php4
