First of all, starting a project this way isn't a good idea at all. You
should *KNOW* that a module behaves the way you want, not hope so after
you're already knee-deep into your project.

If not already done, consider patching to 4.0.2a from CVS, as it solves an
important issue when processing chunked encoding. One more thing:
mod_layout2 will not run out of the box on the Apache 2.2.x branch. Major
tweaking is necessary, which goes beyond apr_* <-> ap_* swapping.

Did you load the mod_layout.so from your httpd.conf ? If so, try using
liblayout.so instead:

LoadModule layout_module modules/liblayout.so

And yes, put both inside your modules directory.


It's been really long ago since I installed it last, but by looking at the
symbols in both shared libraries, that should do the job.
