Thanks for the response!

I have included the PHP tags into the file and it does work if called by itself.  I think to get around this I will have to include this file in the root of every directory since Mod_Layout seems to ignore the alias and scriptalias directives.

If the file is not added by LayoutHeader /include.php it does not execute the PHP but instead inserts it into the page's source.

Now I'm trying to figure out how to make the code in the header effect the code on the main page.  Seems they are executed separately and have no common variables that I can manipulate between the two.
