Although I haven't solved this one Alexander, I am VERY interested in
any solutions you come up with.  I've run into the exact same issue,
especially with phpbb3.  Thus far, I've found no way to use mod_layout
successfully with phpbb3.   I'm sure it can be done SOMEHOW.   Please
send another message to the list if you come up with anything, and
I'll do the same.
