"static" is such an evil word ;)
you would write a script to auto generate the playlists according to the
mp3/s that are selected or present in a location etc...

i don't know the answer to the second question... someone eelse?

Oh, so there is no other way that it can be done?  I have to make a new 
php file for every mp3 file?  I was hoping for a more simplier way as I 
intend to have a huge static collection of teaching material.

Does mod_mp3 support any bitrate streams?  I put a mixture in and set 
it to random, it did 128k & 320k fine although stuttered when played in 
Windows Media Player 7.01 but wouldn't play the lower 16k file?
