Tiger Server install mod_mp3 v1.2 fail on libmod_mp3.so

hi,
  I downloaded v1.2 and tried to install it. i put in tiger the 
developer package.  I tried this:

configure
make
make install.

on make install it fails. it can't find libmod_mp3.so to copy.  i looked 
in  src/.libs and sure enough it wasn't there. can anybody give me a 
hint? thanx.
