RE: Not able to stream or download from remote computer

Howdy,

Show me your mod_mp3 directives please.

The first thing I would do, from remote, is to look at the ?op=select display from mod_mp3.
In general I would make sure Apache was able to serve normal html to remote.


If your browser is attempting to dispatch the stream to QuickTime plug-in, it is likely that the correct mime type is being sent to the browser. However, it is possible that the browser doesn't understand the content-disposition, and might be trying to save the data, rather than play it.

I say stop using the browser to get to the mod_mp3, and start using a mp3 decoder (xmms, winamp) on the url directly.
IF the browser doesn't understand how to handle mp3 content, or the mime/disposition says to save instead of playing... You would have this behavior.

Actually, there is no error.  It just comes up like
it's going to load, and stays blank.  A friend
reported that a Quicktime logo came up when he
attempted it.  This is what's kind of got me
wondering...
