*Ouch*, I didn't realize. Building Perl from scratch ... well, an option.

I guess I now understand why XAMPP doesn't deliver mod_perl anymore with
httpd 2.4-based builds on current releases while most Linux distros with
httpd
2.4  deliver a 2.0.9-dev build.

XAMPP comes with Strawberry (GCC/dmake) and httpd (VC11/nmake) which ends
up in catch-22 with mod_perl as it satisfies neither one nor the other
side of the requirements.

Depending on how difficult it gets building Perl itself with nmake I'll
have to step back and re-think plans.
