I just tried RC2; similar error:

httpd: Syntax error on line 70 of /Users/david/Desktop/mod_perl-2.0.9-rc2/t/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load /Users/david/Desktop/mod_perl-2.0.9-rc2/src/modules/perl/mod_perl.so into server: dlopen(/Users/david/Desktop/mod_perl-2.0.9-rc2/src/modules/perl/mod_perl.so, 10): Symbol not found: _modperl_handler_anon_add
  Referenced from: /Users/david/Desktop/mod_perl-2.0.9-rc2/src/modules/perl/mod_perl.so
  Expected in: dynamic lookup

BTW, it keeps trying to start when this happens, and times out. I don’t suppose there’d be a way to short-circuit it to fail immediately, would there?
