IP level measurement traffic

Hi,
I would like to known if someone have an idea how in the mod_proxy we
can easily measure the request/response volume at level 3 (IP level).
At the moment the measured volume is for HTTP protocol and I am
interesting to know the real volume, including IP transport protocol.
