Sorry I didn't reply sooner, there was some work I had to do over the
last few days.
Thanks for your input, everyone! This has been very helpful. I think
I'll go with this suggestion, as it seems to solve most of my
problems, and will try to let you know if I encounter anything worth
mentioning.
