Hello everybody,

after the first modsurvey-developer-meeting in Mestre, Italy early
February this year we are proud to announce a second meeting from
September 30th to October 2nd 2005 in Regensburg, Germany.

Everybody is welcome to discuss modsurvey-related topics,
non-modsurvey-related topics or to have one or two Spritz (or the
bavarian-Spritz-equivalent) with Vladi.

The meeting takes place at eveca-office. If you are interested in
attending the meeting please contact [email protected] for further
information.

As we completely roughed up the timetable last time, I don't think
that we should specify accurate time-slots for every topic in
advance. So here is the provisional timetable and our topics:

Friday evening:
- get-together with usual Spritz-event (or some kind of Spritz)

Saturday (starting about 10:00 am):
- salutation and introduction to the meeting
- content-block
- lunch-break
- content-block
- usual Spritz-event
- out for dinner

Sunday (starting about 10:00 am)
- content-block
- lunch-break
- farewell or another content-block ahead

Possible content:

- Conclusion of what happened since last meeting (the latest
improvements, how the software has changed from the last time
we've seen)

- The system of our dreams: If there were no limits in resources
and technology, how would an all-integrated surveying support
system look?

- What of this dream-system is achievable in a realistic point of
view? (the next two- or three-month plan)

- Which new elements are desired by most users/developers?

- Pet projects that were started but for some reason never
finished

- Survey portal: Setting up a community around web surveys with
blogs and discussion forums and similar (and inviting people from
other known FOSS survey software projects to participate)

- How are shaping up other OS-survey-projects? How do they differ
from modsurvey? What can we learn from them?

- Starting an EU project. Earlier we looked at starting an
EU-project for development of an integrated survey suite, but
never got far. Does things look better today? (I have launched a
trial balloon with the bavarian-software-initiative, had some
talks with consultants and can report some results)

- Mod_Survey on windows or (offline) mobile systems. Do we want it
and is it possible?

- How about state of documentation? (Ok-ok, unfair question ...
How do we get documentation to status quo?)

- Short presentation of the new error-processing (by bugant)

Any requests for further topics are welcome. So don't be shy, come
to Regensburg and become a member of the lovely modsurvey-family!

Cheers Mike
