Some time ago, the following snippet worked fine for us:

<ROUTE CONTINUE="{/
srand(time);
@route=('alt1.survey','alt2.survey','alt3.survey');
print $route[int(rand(3))];
/}" />

Maybe you can rewrite this snippet for your purposes.
