No such interface

I'm seeing this in syslog when I start the wackamole daemon:

Mar 11 12:49:13 web001 wackamole[11012]: connecting to 4803
Mar 11 12:49:13 web001 wackamole[11012]: 934 No such interface
Mar 11 12:49:13 web001 last message repeated 5 times

I have six virtual IP addresses in wackamole.conf, and based on the number of these messages, I'm guessing that they're related.

I have other pathological symptoms, but before I delve into them I'm hoping perhaps someone knows offhand what "934 No such interface" might imply.
