Based on the conversations around 1.4.4, I don't see any particular
need to call a formal vote to start the 1.4.5 release process. Please
just be advised that Dan and I will start turning the crank Real Soon
Now, and will send out a release vote when we have a candidate. If
anyone was persuaded by my explanation last time of the necessity of a
vote to nominate a release manager, just send along a complaint and
I'll send around a vote.
