REP_TIMEOUT is hardcoded, and patching the source file is the only solution.

But do you think spending 6 hours to do the estimate is useful.

I suggest that you change your estimate for server, your backup will be 
6 hour faster.
The estimate are less precise, but it save the estimate phase.
