I looked at the code: exits != 0 is the only way. The script must also write a text message to stderr. There is 3 kinds of message that a backup can print: 1. normal message: result of backup is SUCCESS 2. strange message: result of backup is STRANGE 3. error message: result of backup is FAILED stdout of a script is always normal message stderr of a script is STRANGE if exit == 0 stderr of a script is FAILED if exit != 0 It should be verified and added to the documentation.
