I've had two amdump runs since appling the patch and both selected the
"correct" tapes, and amcheck continues to show the "Will write to
volume" tape as expected as well.

I'll try to make sure it gets all the way around the tape cycle with no
new unexpected tapes getting using, but so far this patch seems to do
the trick.
