Terminology is "chunks" on holding disk, "parts" on tape. I was refering to the 45 parts that would be on the tape(s). Yes there is a parameter "allow-split" which defaults to "yes". The parameter is absent from my config files so it is default. There are also parameters for specifying the part size.
