git failure

Finding that last Augusts 3.5.4-arm64 debs won't install on bookworm 
arm64. I went to the web page and got the git clone commandline

But on execing it, get this:
gene@coyote:~$ cd ./Downloads/armbian
gene@coyote:~/Downloads/armbian$ git clone 
git://github.com/zmanda/amanda.git
Cloning into 'amanda'...
fatal: unable to connect to github.com:
github.com[0: 140.82.114.3]: errno=Connection timed out
