Christian, I would agree with you if zip and unzip would work correctly on
my Win2000 SP4. But they do not; neither ZIP.EXE and UNZIP.EXE downloaded
from the Info-ZIP site, nor the builds that I created with Visual C 6.0 from
the official sources, or from the latest betas.

Here is what's happening on NTFS, and also on UDF (DVD-RAM driver provided
by BHA):

Running unzip in winter time:
- Time stamps of files created in winter time are restored correctly
- Time stamps of files created in summer time are 1 hour earlier

Running unzip in summer time:
- Time stamps of files created in summer time are restored correctly
- Time stamps of files created in winter time are 1 hour later

(zip suffers from the converse problem)

The time stamps are correctly handled on FAT32. If you incorporate the small
patch that I submitted in my last message (i.e. if you treat NTFS just like
FAT), then unzip works correctly (on my system). Furthermore, stat() and
utime() provided by MS CRTL work correctly, too. I tested them by building
TAR using MinGW.

So, are you sure that you tested your claim on Win2000 or WinXP? I believe
you did test your claim on WinNT4, in which case maybe there is a difference
between WinNT4 and Win2000 (??)

On the other hand, I do have the following problem with time stamps on my
NTFS: when switching between winter time and summer time, all the time
stamps on my disc are offset by 1 hour. If you did test your claim on
Win2000, and your conclusion is different than mine, then maybe something
spooky is happening on my machine :-|

Best regards,
Cosmin
