Hello,

I have not added anything significant. The machine in
question is a dual xeon with 4 gigs of ram. It
basically acts as a fileserver (that's it) It is
completely overbuilt and I can't image a memory proble
cropping up all of the sudden. Prior to this it
worked fine for about a year.

I tried to run it in a different shell last night,
using. Joerge mentioned that bash shell was the
problem in an earlier message.

At then end of the first tape, i changed tapes and hit
return. This time it did not quit and exit the
terminal. Instead it said.....

star: 1023777 blocks + 0 bytes (total of 10483476480
bytes = 10237770.00k).
star: Mount volume #2 on '/dev/st0' and hit <RETURN>
star: Device or resource busy. Error writing
'/dev/st0'.
star: 1 blocks + -1 bytes (total of 10239 bytes =
9.99k).
star: Total 1023778 blocks + -1 bytes (total of
10483486719 bytes = 10237779.99k).
star: The following problems occurred during archive
processing:
star: Cannot: stat 0, open 2, read/write 0. Size
changed 0.
star: Missing links 0, Name too long 0, File too big
0, Not dumped 0.

thanks jon
