linux backup with ACLs - command line questions.

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out how to get STAR to backup a linux server, as a
replacement for "dump"
We are now using ACLs and STAR is the  onlything I know that backs them up.

Something does not look correct, I get this error message:

      /usr/bin/star: No such file or directory. Cannot read link
'proc/221/exe'.

And errors like this:

      sys/module/nls_utf8/sections/.strtab is sparse

Either I'm doing the "-not pattern=SOMETHING" wrong, or the "-xdev" option
does not work.

The command line I am using is:

  star bs=256k -c -xdev -sparse -acl -not pattern=/proc -not pattern=/sys
level=0 -wtardumps f=/dev/nst0 -C / .

That should - as I understand it specify:

      bs=256k -> 256K block size
      -c    -> create
      -xdev -> stay in one file system
      -sparse -> handle sparse files
      -acl  -> We are using ACLs
      -not XXXX -> ignore the "/proc" directory
      -not XXXX -> ignore the /sys directory
      level=0  -> specify level 0 dump
      -wtardumps => Create a dump date
      f=XXXXX -> my tape drive
      -C / .      -> I'm backing up my root file system.

Any suggestions?

Host is a RH-EL4 intel box.
