Bonjour,

I have a 250 Go XFS partition on a debian sarge : /MYVOL
I have a dds4 tape drive (20Go/40Go).
The 250 Go volume is a "Samba" share which look like this :

MYVOL
|_folder1
|_folder2
|_folder3
   |_newfolder1
   |_newfolder2
     |_Star is a great thing.odt
     |_folder with spaces in its name
       |_document.odt
|_...

I would like to do that :

1- Backup the entire volume saving ACL
2- have a backup.log
3- To be able to restora only one file or only one folder when my users
delete something.

I have done that :

1- #find /MYVOL -print | star -c artype=exustar -acl -multivol list=-
f=/dev/st0
2- #rm -r /MYVOL/folder3/newfolder2
3- If i try to restore only this folder i do :
    #cd /MYVOL/folder3/
    #star -xp -acl pat=MYVOL/newfolder2/\* f=/dev/st0

what happens :

MYVOL
|_folder1
|_folder2
|_folder3
   |_newfolder1
   |_MYVOL
     |_folder3
       |_newfolder2
         |_Star is a great thing.odt
         |_folder with spaces in its name
         |_document.odt
|_...

-what's wrong with my pattern ?
-How can i restore only the file "Star is a great thing.odt" if it has
been deleted ?
-How can i have a backup log ? i think i can do that : star -tv
f=/dev/st0 but it's not returning the result of the star command ?

Thank you for your prog and sorry for my poor english.

Pinguy
