Recommended star command to mirror a data directory

Hi star users.

What is your recommended star command to mirror a data directory
in a LAN (between two different hard disks)?

Objectives (from more important to less important):
1. robustness (we talking about star, so this one is probably an easy one :-) )
2. speed
3. optional: recycling a previous backup (produced by an earlier star call)

The data amounts to around 80 GB with several million files;
so tools like rsnapshot or rsync will break and
star is one of the remaining alternatives.
