By this I meant any kind of incrementality; the one in your star-based

For example, if I run rsync for the data described above
the rsync process will grow and grow over 1GB RAM usage so that
I had to stop rsync :-(
BTW: rsync needed over 30 hours and was not ready when I stopped it.
