Dump statistics on stderr

Hi list,

I wondered if it is possible to suppress the following output, which is
displayed on stderr, when creating incremental backups:

Type of this level 1P dump: partial
Date of this level 1P dump: Tue Dec 30 19:27:26 2008
Date of last level 0P dump: Fri Apr 17 12:55:45 2009
Dump record  level 1P dump: Tue Dec 30 19:27:26 2008 written
--- snap ---

And of course I do want to get real error messages, but not the messages
above. I took a look into the documentation and into the source code
even. But as far as I realized I have to patch the sources that. Am I
correct or is there another way to accomplish that?
