Very basic question (amplify only the left channel)

Dear all,

Sorry that I have to ask a very basic question.
But if the left channel of the stereo microphone for one track is a
little bit more silent than the right one: I know how to make both
channels louder. But there has to be a simple way to only amplify one
channel.
