Thanks for looking at the manual.

The default of auto mute is off on Free Run and RTC mode and I didn't
change it.

The main issue might be some missing data in the first part of the LTC on
CH1 of the video. After a bunch of videos, I may be an error pattern I
didn't understand at first. I am using analysis tools that Robin wrote and
I'll ask him about the results.

I've been filming the start of each video using the clock of one of my
phones.

I am looking at getting a hardware slate like a Denecke TS-3 - to keep my
sanity I only use software in post :-) .

I am unsure though if I want to send timecode to the slate or have it
generate it. I would have to "JAM" either the F8 or the slate, if I
understand correctly.
