The steps described in the Ardour manual are for what you would generally think of as soundtrack editing, you need a copy of the video for time alignment, but the video does not have to be full resolution or highest quality. It sounds like what you want is something more like a video installation playback or something similar. Assuming that just using VLC or some similar playback only application does not suit your needs, you can use xjadeo and Ardour together without following the manual steps for importing video into the Ardour timeline. Just load the audio you want into Ardour, set the Ardour synchronization to follow jack transport and set xjadeo to follow jack transport, then use a jack control application to start the jack transport running, and both ardour and xjadeo should follow. > Does ardour/xjadeo restrict to using mjpeg format internally, to do the > timeline and video window? Yes, but it sounds like what you want is not the typical import to timeline work flow, you want xjadeo to play back full resolution video, so you will need to use the alternate method I mentioned above. -- Chris Caudle _______________________________________________ Ardour-Users mailing list [email protected] To unsubscribe or change your mailing preferences please visit: http://lists.ardour.org/listinfo.cgi/ardour-users-ardour.org
