 It is now!  Thank you.  I missed that subdirectory name.  Read right by it in the docs and didn't know I had to create it.

I have created a .map file and have stored it in home/Library/Preferences/Ardour5 as instructed in the manual. I'm on a Mac BTW.
When I go to Control Surfaces/General MIDI and click Show Protocol Settings I should be able to select my newly created map from the MIDI Bindings drop down but my map isn't listed there.  
Is there something I'm missing?
