yes, i actually tried that first, but i couldn't get it to work reliably.=20
pactl creates the desired sinks on my laptop, but not on my desktop machine=
,=20
using the same "module-remap-sink" calls that do what i want in my ~/.confi=
g/
pulse/default.pa now. i tried but failed to find out why.

i currently use a script invoked by udev to kill pulseaudio for the user=20
running it, so the default.pa creates the sinks and also removes them when =
the=20
device is shut down.=20
