Ah, okay, I’ll have to research that further because, with JAWS, it’s not simple to navigate the About window, its tabs, and the information within each of the tabs of the dialog.

Not sure yet how well NVDA deals with that dialog but I’ll look into it.

Either way, it might be useful to put the build information at the top of the ā€œbuild informationā€ information section rather than burying it at the end. At least it would be more efficient for me. Maybe others too?

Thanks for the tip!

On the ā€œBuild Informationā€ tab in Help -> About Audacity, you’ll find the commit ID and date it was built near the bottom.

Any chance we can include the RC version number in the Audacity About dialog? Unless there is another way of obtaining the minor version number while in Audacity. If there is another method, mind explaining how to do it?

With my screen reader, JAWS, I can grab the version number with JAWSKey+control+’v’ but it reports as ā€œAudacity Version 3,0,0,0ā€

I’d like to know what version I’m using without having to try and remember what version I most recently installed.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Umm. Exactly as I said last time "I'm hoping this one is going to be the actual release" :-) . It's up on FossHub

https://www.fosshub.com/Audacity-devel.html

The 'Oh lĆŖ lĆ”' bug is fixed (Bug #2688 <https://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2688> )

The 'Big R' bug is fixed (Bug #2689 <https://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2689> )

Also many broken links (though not quite all of them) from the manual are fixed.

Big thanks to everyone involved in finding and fixing these. Please give Audacity a good workout as this is the one likely to go to millions of users!
