I posted a fixed version of the noise gate plug-in to bugzilla yesterday.

The problem is caused by changes in the Nyquist library.
The fix / workaround is not ideal, but the modified Noise Gate is good for
6 hour selections at 44100Hz, and throws a meaningful error if the
selection is too long (The error throws at a safe limit of 1 billion
samples).

Following a discussion with Roger, it looks like a better fix is possible,
using a little known and rarely used primitive that has been available in
Nyquist all along. I shall be working on this today.
