Hi there,

Yes, this story was caused as a result of a privacy policy our legal team
drafted for an upcoming release. Some community members interpreted its
wording to mean that Audacity would be storing and sharing your private
information (which of course is not the case). We do deserve some criticism
because the privacy policy was clearly very poorly worded and not released
with any context.
